brusha brusha brusha

Yesterday I had started out my morning with an appointment at the dentist office.

As usual the cleaning went well but it could have gone better.

K and I have a Philips Sonicare toothbrush. When we first bought it I thought yeah it's just a toothbrush but a damn pricey one. I figured what the hell maybe there's a reason why the dentist office keeps pushing us to get one.

When I first used the brush I wasn't sure if I liked how it tickled my nose to the point of insanity. Luckily, that sensation did go away after several uses. I guess you just get used to the feeling. I also wasn't sure if brushing for 2 minutes was quite enough but that is how long the brush is timed to take care of the several quadrants of the mouth. You can, of course, restart the brush again for another 2 minutes if it makes you feel better about the short amount of brushing time.

I will say that after a 2 minute Sonicare brushing my teeth feel very clean compared to manual brushing. I know this sounds gross but the Sonicare also vibrates just about everything out of your teeth kind of like flossing.

But any ways...I'm not hear to review the brush necessarily or even try to sell it to anyone else.

Ever since we'd moved into our home K and I have our own bathrooms to get ready in. He gets ready in the bathroom that has our Sonicare toothbrush. I don't want to get in his way or have him end up in my bathroom while I need to get in there so I just brush my teeth the old skool way...manually.

After this dentist visit I was told that I had a couple of stains on my pearly whites and that I had slight gum bleeding during the cleaning. That is not usually a big deal and pretty normal for some.

However, this hasn't been the norm for me ever since using the Sonicare brush. The hygenist always complimented me on how clean my teeth were and how healthy my gums looked. And they would always ask if I was using Sonicare and I would confirm and they would nod approvingly and knowingly.

This time I didn't get the nod. Hrm.

So, yeah...this weekend we'll be buying another Sonicare toothbrush for my bathroom.

I thought you all should know. Later.

We have one of those but I don't use it because it makes me sneeze EVERY SINGLE TIME.

But - this makes me want to try again.

Pacer: There used to be a time I would use one hand to hold the brush and the other hand would hold onto my nose to stop the tickle. *lol*
