Nana's Garden

While my father was here visiting he created a small garden for my mom. He emptied her ashes into the ground and made a Nana's Garden in my backyard. I love it. It's simple and my dad did it. I'll be adding more to the area. I want it to be bright and pretty. She would like that. Mom would have been impressed with what my dad did.

 

 

Bottle Tree

Our dogwood didn't have a chance of surviving, since a massive oak kept it from light and water. It is now our bottle tree. Not quite as pretty as ones I have seen before, but I like it. :)

Texas Star

It started off as a small hibiscus that fit in the small pot shown above.

This hibiscus then started to grow...

I thought maybe Marty and Kendal had planted a magic bean instead when they gave us this plant. Also, note that I am a super lazy gardener and never moved that huge plant into another container and alas the roots had busted free through the bottom and are now rooted where it stands.

AAAAND....check it out...it bloomed! It's a Texas Star Hibiscus. Even though the leaves look like a pot plant it is not. :)
